We offer through our recycling partners Citron SA a recycling solution for all portable batteries. Citron focus on the recovery of minerals, metals and heavy metals from dangerous waste with a large scale industrial plant involving:

  • Extraction of heavy metals from hazardous wastes
  • Recycling of these heavy metals as secondary raw materials

Citron SA opened their new plant in le Havre France using the Oxyreducer process in September 1999. The main work of the Oxyreducer is undertaken by a rotary hearth furnace. This includes the following steps:

  • Heating and pyrolysis of the organic compounds
  • Reduction of the metallic oxides to their metallic state
  • High temperature separation of Zinc, Mercury etc. from the Iron, Copper and Manganese fraction.
  • Oxidation of the process gases as well as the re-oxidation of Zinc.

The reaction is mainly controlled by the following parameters; temperature, concentration of oxygen and retention time.
