Transportation
Loddon Waste Management has an extensive fleet of vehicles...
Loddon are registered hazardous waste carriers and collect Batteries and WEEE from all over the UK and ship waste to recyclers in the UK and Europe. With full implementation of the "EU Batteries Directive" it is important to understand that for the purposes of transportation all end of use batteries are categorised hazardous - there is stringent legislation governing their transportation. With a proven record of operating the oldest continuous "battery take-back scheme" Loddon is well known for its experience in the industry.
Loddon Waste Management has an extensive fleet of vehicles with which they collect all types of waste from all regions of the country. The batteries that are collected are presented in very different types of containers from large leak proof pallet boxes containing over 500kgs to small bins holding only a few kilograms.
We have an ongoing training programme for all our staff and drivers. All drivers are put through ADR training for the carriage of dangerous goods. The legislation surrounding the collection and transportation of waste batteries is complex and is regularly updated and extended. All mixed portable batteries will fall under the requirements for ADR with regards to their transportation around the UK and to our recycling partners in France.
